Mixing Evaluation

This is the mix I did for band 2 when me and my team recorded them in the studio for their Live Lounge session. Overall I think my mix for the band is good. I think all the levels are at a suitable level including all the separate audio levels for each drum mic. I utilised effects here compressor on everything some more than others, using busses I added reverb and these compressors. I EQ'd all of the instruments in this track, I felt like the orange guitar needed a mid boost and the victory more top end, I also did the standard LPFs and HPFs on things like the bass, kick drum, cymbals etc. I utilised automation for the Victory guitar giving a volume boost and un-panning it for the solo. Both guitars are panned one to either side, so are the overheads. I used the bands first take for my mix because I felt like the levels overall were easier to mix than the second. If I were to mix this track again I would go through all of the instruments and add some more FX on.
