Performance Evaluation

This is our performance from the Skills Wales Popular Music competition in Pontio. Overall I had so much fun playing this show and I think it went really really well. However it wasn't perfect. The energy we had on stage and the audience interaction I feel went great, I felt a connection with the audience. Giving Cai the hat for his solo in Symphony was also a good idea I think. One area I lacked in during this performance was my playing technique because I was just all over the place which while it was good for the performance aspect it did not do my playing any favours. I definitely missed notes, played incorrect notes, dynamics all over the place. Which is disappointing after the amount we practiced these 3 songs. To be honest though I doubt the audience noticed. One thing the judges said to us was that we needed to decide on a specific sub-genre of metal and stick with it. I agree with him partially only because I think choosing Teenagers by My Chemical Romance as our last song was a mistake. If I was to go back and redo this performance and the preparation I did for it from the beginning I would advocate for 3 similar songs and got cracking on practicing that stage presence earlier than I did to ensure that my technique would be up to scratch on the day. Aside from this I feel that this show was a great time and we all gave it our best going up there and I am by no means disappointed with how it turned out in the end.
